Anil: Kindly explain how DevOps is different from agile methodology.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>For me DevOps is an evolution of Agile. DevOps comes with some needs Agile has no real answers. This needs are related to Operations. ITIL and LEAN joined to Agile can configure the DevOps culture where time is very important. 
DevOps is a culture that moves the organization towards CI\/CD where Sprints, Demos, and so on are not as flexible as DevOps could offer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: What keeps you interested in learning technology?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>I have been working in technology my whole life. I’m a strong believer of Technology is the key for helping the human being to do better things and to help the humanity to achieve incredible goals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: Explain in brief What are the different phases in DevOps? And what according you is the most important phase?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>For me there are only three phases in DevOps:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Team<\/strong> : Help the team to create a Safe Space where all the creativity is the focus in Continuous Improvement. To achive this goal, the team should Automate as much as they can and, with this automation, get free time for thinking and being creative.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Observability<\/strong> : Value Stream is the way where the Continuous Improvement comes from. VS is the path where things go through, and it should be measured to try to improve these metrics as much as it is possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Quaility, Security and Assurance: We, the whole world, use technology in our smartphones for whatever we want, do not have patience. It means we should work to move to production all these things we could measure in a huge amount of security. It’s going to work almost perfectly. It means the whole team should work to ensure the product’s quality, and the team must be trained on this.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: Mention a few of the primary advantages of DevOps.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>DevOps is the way of working that, applied with patience and involving the whole organization, could offer Security, Return of Investment, Fast Changes and Customer Satisfaction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: What is your process of understanding new technologies?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>It’s in my understanding. Technology is my job but also my hobbie. I use to read, test and deploy all the things I see out there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: What role does configuration management play in DevOps?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>The entire team should be involved in the configuration management. Configuration is essential for being in a unique role. Avoiding Single Point of Failure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: What do you look for in technical blogs published online?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>Opinions, experiences and mostly new tools. There are a bunch of new tools every week in the market and I love the brave ones who test the tools and share their experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: What is AWS’s role in DevOps?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Luis: <\/strong>AWS for me is just a tool where to do things I not going to do on my DataCenter. AWS is a vendor in the same way is GCP or Azure. Tell me the price, and I’ll look for the best thing to deploy there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: What is that one misunderstood concept in your industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>We are not doing magical things. We are doing some kind of art. We combine the same sentences, variables, code languajes with different credentials but it’s not fast and it’s not easy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anil: What are the DevOps anti-patterns?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luis: <\/strong>It’s weird because anti-pattern is a pattern. If you want to call anti-pattern to a fast reparation, you could do it but it’s a pattern when a stressed team shows this behavior without using the lesson learned to resolve the issue for continuous improvement activities. Troubleshooting is our daily basis, most of the time. Trying to solve it by keeping the Lights ON (KtLO) it’s the common action in our Support activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
